About Sid Yost

Sid Yost has worked in the entertainment industry with exotic and domestic animals for over 30 years. His skills include consulting as an expert with the media, on-set training, still photo shoots, commercials, features, live events, animal educational presentations, and more.

Sid performed on the hit television show "Critter Gitters" with his sidekick Angel the chimpanzee. He has also appeared on over 100 national and local talk shows to educate millions of viewers on animals, including endangered wildlife and animal behavior.

Throughout his career, Sid has held many prominent positions at various animal training companies and productions, including:

• Head trainer for Amazing Animal Adventures

• Head trainer and administrator at Gentle Jungle Animal Training School

• Animal show director and designer at Lion Country Safari

• President of Rocky Mountain Studio Animal Affection Training School.

Sid has mastered the theory of "affection training", which boasts love, patience, calmness, and consistency - a non-threatening method of animal training which is based on positive reinforcement. Affection training mirrors the basic fundamentals of child-raising - which is why Sid's animals are also his family!

In his career, Sid has raised the following animals (and more) from infancy to adulthood: chimpanzees, lions, tigers, bears, wolves, giraffes, zebras, elephants, eagles, hawks, binturongs, monkeys, orangutans, caracals, ocelots, servals, lynx, cheetahs, bobcats, leopards, jaguars, mountain lions, badgers, raccoons, ferrets, and various types of hoofstock, reptiles, and domestic animals.
